Let’s go back in time for a second, to the year 2000. Your HR team is busy getting through a lot of paperwork, recruiting for new employees, preparing reports and managing employee information. You are reading through several reports. There’s data about staff turnover, the number of hours worked this week and absenteeism rates. The reports also look into how long employees stay with the organisation on average, diversity of employees and promotion rates amongst different roles.

Creating a Positive, Enjoyable work environment is the biggest challenge faced by Business Leaders. Whether you be a small, medium or large business, attracting the best talent and keeping is how you will gain the advantage. Though I pose this question, is this just about the bottom line, or, should there be a more humanistic approach to “Why” we are in business. How many Managers and HR professionals know, each day, how their workforce is feeling. Why are they happy, why are they sad. And how can the business contribute to a more balanced productive environment. You obviously need the tools and the vision.
