The Top Five Subscribe-HR Blogs Of 2020

Posted by Mathew French on 22 December 2020

What a year! Congratulations on making it through the year that was 2020. As things draw to a close and we get to enjoy some down time, we figured it was appropriate to pause and reflect before we prepare for 2021. If there's one lesson we could call out at the headline for the last 12 months it was about digital transformation. If you got caught out when the world of work got turned on its head, then you've no doubt realised that complacency on the technology front is no longer acceptable. As we went back through this year's most read blogs to create this post, we realised that one of them (a piece about the top 5 risk areas for HR) had digital transformation (or a lack thereof) as the #1 risk. That means that back in 2013 (when that post was published) was, according to us, the best time to embark upon your digital HR transformation. We will sign off for 2020 by reminding you that the next best time to implement you digital transformation (if you still haven't done so) is NOW.

Which HR Trends Matter To Your Business in 2021?

Posted by Mathew French on 16 December 2020

Since 2017, we've been publishing an annual blog about which HR trends matter and what to keep your eye on in the coming year. In 2020, trend predictions went out the window and everyone was just focused on putting one foot in front of the other. It was a year in which necessities became trends whether we wanted them to or not. Because the annual trends blog is always one of our most popular, it is back for 2021 (and there are lots of interesting developments on the horizon for HR). This year was a year of significant disruption and the challenge for 2021 and beyond is to integrate all the changes into a cohesive, efficient, integrated, automated whole. Let's take a look at which HR trends matter to your business in 2021 and beyond.

The HR Spine: Flexibility & Efficiency Managing Employee Information

Posted by Mathew French on 24 November 2020

A healthy spine is flexible, keeps the body in alignment and transmits messages accurately and efficiently from the brain to the rest of the body. In the same manner, the key to flexibility, efficiency and effective management of employee information in HR, is to allow for a smooth flow of data between all the convergent data points that HR management generates. Given the amount of disruption to the way we work in 2020 - what are the convergent data points that HR needs to optimise to ensure that there are no bottlenecks in the employee lifecycle going forward? Let's take a look.

Posted by Mathew French on 17 November 2020

If you missed our Blog about HR software configurability, you might not be up to speed about the importance of configuration tools. It's a fallacy that the 'out-of-the-box' functionality of all Cloud HR software will meet the needs of every organisation. That's why you need to make sure that your HR software has powerful configuration options that enable you to adapt it to your unique HR processes. Essentially, you need to be able to bend your HR software to your will because we all know that one size does not fit all HR automation needs. Managing Performance in the New World of Work

Posted by Mathew French on 10 November 2020

2020 is the year in which the way we work was completely transformed. According to Brandon Hall Group research, over 80% of organisations will use flexible scheduling and remote work going forward based on the impact of changes to the way we worked throughout this year. To make this transition productive for both employees and employers, Leaders and Managers must encourage (and ultimately cultivate) high performance, while at the same time fostering their employees’ well-being and guarding against burnout and talent attrition. In this week's HR Blog we explore the importance of managing performance in the new world of work.

HR Dashboards: Good User Experience Is The Key To Productivity

Posted by Mathew French on 22 October 2020

Dashboards can improve the overall experience for users of your HR software - that is, your employees. But did you know they can also provide significant productivity benefits that extend well beyond what you might be aware of (or think is possible)? But how do you access the right data, at the right time, and deliver that data to your employees in the right way so as to have a positive impact on user experience and productivity?. Ultimately, it all comes down to configuration. Many HR systems lack the configuration tools which make it possible for users to configure the software to meet the unique needs of the organisation. That applies just as much to workflows as it does to dashboards. The more configurable your HR software and your HR dashboards are, the more productive your employees will be. Let's take a look at the impact UX can have on ROI through the lens of what HR dashboards make possible.
