Dive into HR Technology and Swim

Posted by Mathew French on 31 January 2023

There are many HR Technologies on the market which can make it more complicated and confusing when trying the select the right HR Technology. Across the silos of HR and Employee Lifecycle management exist specific Core HR functions which are both operational and strategic. The top layer of the Employee Lifecycle is made up of Recruitment, Onboarding, Crossboarding, Offboarding, Timesheets, Rostering and Awards, Payroll, Self-Service and Core-HR. These areas could be said to be fundamental to the operation of a business and there are significant benefits from automating all of these aspects of operations so that more time can be spent on strategic initiatives or simply having less stress at work. Background Checking is also an important part of this spine. Being able to run checks as Applicants are moved through the Recruitment process is important, as is rechecking employees as checks expire.

The Top Five Subscribe-HR Blogs Of 2020

Posted by Mathew French on 22 December 2020

What a year! Congratulations on making it through the year that was 2020. As things draw to a close and we get to enjoy some down time, we figured it was appropriate to pause and reflect before we prepare for 2021. If there's one lesson we could call out at the headline for the last 12 months it was about digital transformation. If you got caught out when the world of work got turned on its head, then you've no doubt realised that complacency on the technology front is no longer acceptable. As we went back through this year's most read blogs to create this post, we realised that one of them (a piece about the top 5 risk areas for HR) had digital transformation (or a lack thereof) as the #1 risk. That means that back in 2013 (when that post was published) was, according to us, the best time to embark upon your digital HR transformation. We will sign off for 2020 by reminding you that the next best time to implement you digital transformation (if you still haven't done so) is NOW.

Posted by Mathew French on 17 November 2020

If you missed our Blog about HR software configurability, you might not be up to speed about the importance of configuration tools. It's a fallacy that the 'out-of-the-box' functionality of all Cloud HR software will meet the needs of every organisation. That's why you need to make sure that your HR software has powerful configuration options that enable you to adapt it to your unique HR processes. Essentially, you need to be able to bend your HR software to your will because we all know that one size does not fit all HR automation needs. Posted by Mathew French on 3 November 2020

It's no secret that your #HRtech will do more for you if you've got a strategy in place to ensure your business can take full advantage of it. A good strategy, coupled with the right HR software, can result in an average 15% benefit to your bottom line. Global Human Capital Trends 2020 - Deloitte's Annual Report

Posted by Mathew French on 18 June 2020

Every year, Deloitte conducts an extensive study on the emerging and prevailing trends in human capital and the future of work. Each year, the post we write on our HR blog about that report is always one of the most popular. In 2020, the Human Capital Trends Report highlights an intensifying combination of economic, social, and political issues impacting HR and business leaders. These factors continue to put pressure on businesses to operate in a more socially oriented manner (a continuation of 2019's trend, which we covered in a previous HR blog post), and to reinvent their organisations around a more ethical and human focus. Let's take a look at the highlights of this year's report and discover the HR metrics that matter in 2020 and beyond.

Better Decision Making With HR Dashboards and Data Visualisation

Posted by Mathew French on 14 April 2020

HR Dashboards are an indispensable tool for HR professionals. They provide critical data visualisation for relevant metrics across the entire employee lifecycle, including hiring, retention, onboarding, performance, and more. In this HR Blog we look at the benefit of using dashboards to get a real-time overview of your data so that you can gain valuable business intelligence to run an agile and successful organisation using HR automation.

HR's Top Five Priorities for 2020 and Beyond

Posted by Mathew French on 28 January 2020

Every year at this time, HR software companies across the globe publish blogs about HR trends for the coming year (and beyond). Some blogs list up to 25 trends to keep your eye on, but who has time to stay on top of a list that long in this day and age? If you apply the 80/20 rule to a list that totals 25, you really only need to focus on 5 trends or priorities. And more importantly, you need to choose the top 5 things that matter most to your business. In our first HR Blog for 2020, we're going to explore Gartner's perspective on the top 5 priorities for HR leaders in 2020. These are derived from Gartner's 2020 Future of HR Survey, which polled HR leaders to assess their priorities and expected challenges in 2020 and beyond.
